EALAT Work Package 1 Meeting in Oslo today. EALAT Project leaders Ole Henrik Magga and Svein Mathiesen, ICR Director Anders Oskal and EALAT team members Inger Marie Gaup Eira are in Oslo today meeting with Inger Hanssen Bauer and Eirik Førland at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

ICR attended the ‘Future Challenges for Reindeer Husbandry’ workshop in Umeå, 20-21 March, organised by the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. An extremely well attended seminar on the issue of reindeer grazing areas in Norway was held in Alta today. Hosted by NRL/NBR, Reindriftforvaltningen and EALAT outreach, over 140 herders, researchers, administrators and students packed the hall. The ICR team made it safely back from Nadym. The meeting was  a success, despite the fact nearly everyone came down with fever..perhaps because they were staying in a Russian sanitorium 40 km outside the town of Nadym? First pictures are here
